PLEDGING
Pledging Mu Alpha Chapter is a 6 week process (7 during Spring semesters). During that time, pledges are expected to complete all of the
requirements for membership. These requirements intended to familiarize each aspiring brother or sister with the history and traditions of the
fraternity, instill a sense of friendship and
brotherhood, and introduce the leadership
and service commitments inherent to Mu Alpha. A few of these requirements
are:
1) Mandatory weekly meetings held each Thursday
during which brothers and sisters speak to pledges about the values important to the fraternity.
2) The successful completion of 10 APO sponsored
service projects.
3) A meal visit with a majority of undergraduate brotherhood.
The Mu Alpha pledging process is a
demanding one. As a fraternity, we strive to recruit
those who will become confident leaders and dedicated
members of the chapter. Therefore, we ask a lot from the
pledges in order to ensure that all those who complete
pledging will remain active brothers. There is absolutely no hazing, and strict standards are enforced to ensure that the pledging process maintains the spirit of Alpha Phi Omega. While pledging remains a difficult and time consuming process, it's also a fun and rewarding period for those that make it into the brotherhood.
As the 105th semester of pledging seen by Mu Alpha Chapter, this will be Line 105 of the fraternity. This semester's pledging is overseen by the Pledgemaster, Nicole Pedi. For more information about pledging Mu Alpha, please contact us.
